How do I repair this rip on the side of this chair?

Bought this from a neighbor who was moving. It’s real comfortable; it swivels and rocks. But I somehow ripped it! It’s about a 2 1/2“ tear.

    You could sew it very carefully with a curved needle and matching thread. Try for small almost invisible stitches.

    I do not know if this tear is ragged but try so No sew heat bonded tape, but ever so carefully

    depending on the size of the rip you can get material glue if you apply it to a tiny square of materil then slip it inside and under the rip ....make sure you line up the rips sides as close as possable ...then press it together and leave it till it is set up..(a couple hours) if need be try sewing it with matching thread with small stitches on the rips edges to bind it more

      I think this is the best answer. Since the tear is on the side and won't have much pressure on it, the material underneath with the glue and carefully use a straight pin to hold it together and in place while it dries. I have done something similar and when I put the edges together the glue helped seal it. IT would be different it is was on the seat or on the arm but on the side, this should work just fine. A little tedious working on it at the time but it should last a long time.

    Supposed it’s a seat in your car, how would I hold it together to set??
