Do you know what material the table consists of?

It would be best to see the actual picture of the scratch, with angles showing its depth, as the style has nothing to do with the repair of a deep scratch. The two ways I use fill scratches and nails holes are tinted wood putty, or wood fill sticks. Without seeing your problem, I'm not sure either will work, so they just possibilities.

@Sandra Linder Your welcome good luck in your repair.

The furniture repair sticks would still work on laminate, but if it's solid black and not wood grained it will be harder to completely hide the repair.

fill it with wood putty, and cover it with a black marker

If all else fails, use a white wax pencil and draw a design on the top that incorporates the scratch, then etch the design into the top. Turn a lemon into lemonade. Probably won't be the last scratch to appear on the table.

I know this is all about DIY, but sometimes a professional is the way to go.

My friend spilled fingernail polish remover onto her mother's brand new table. She called a furniture repair person who came out to the house and fixed it in ten minutes. I have no idea what he used, but I wish I'd known this years ago. If they can fix fingernail polish remover, I'm sure they can take care of scratches.

(I did this same thing as a child on my mother's brand new - antique - dressing table/vanity. I'm still scarred 50 years later!)
