You can try sewing it. You should use a heavy duty upholstery thread rather than a regular weight thread and you might need a heavier curved needle depending on the location of the rips. Seams are easy and you can usually hide the stitching. If it's on an arm, back or seat cushion it will be a noticeable repair.

If it were my couch I would try to patch from the inside using a very strong tape Or even a heat sensitive adhesive repair please if your couch is a cloth versus vinyl or leather
Hi Cro. You can purchase an upholster's needle and thread at most fabric stores. The needle is curved so that you can push it in and out at the same time. You can repair your sofa this way. I have even seen pieces of upholstery cut from the back of a sofa and used to make repairs. Good luck Cro. Stay healthy and well.
If it is only the seam stitches that have come out then it may be an easy fix to merely re-insert the stitches back in along the seam line.
However, it is likely that the fabric has frayed and that is why the seam has pulled apart from itself and has ripped.
There may not be enough seam allowance nor fabric left that is sturdy enough to simply sew the seam back up. Inserting a patch piece to reinforce the larger area will be necessary.
Where are the tears? How big are the tears? If it is in a seam....that's not too bad of a fix! If they are randomly in the middle of the couch or seat, that is much more difficult. If it is at a seam you will need to keep those right sides together and sew in place. the curved needle is sooooo helpful in this situation. Once you use it, you will understand why when it comes to furniture. I had to do this once when we bought new furniture and the guys unwrapping the plastic put a tiny slit in the fabric with their boxcutters. GRRRRR...lol. But I was able to fix it using the curved needle and thread method. Is it a leather couch? The good thing about leather is that it doesn't fray which does make any sewing easier. I wouldn't use glue. What kind of material is your couch? If its microfiber, you can get upholstry grade thread and sew up it yourself.
