Cane backed dining chairs need new cane. What can I do instead?
Replacing cane is expensive. I want to update, but keep the low-key, elegant look.
Did you use Gorilla Glue? Is is wonderful stuff and works very well. You can use the white wood glue or the original yellow looking glue. You would have to clean off the old glue by scraping or sanding and follow the glue bottle directions. Also if you can clamp it while you are repairing it helps.
Maybe some of these will be the answer you're looking for. Hope it helps.

Yes, Gorilla Glue. Follow directions on bottle and clamp it. I recommend leaving the clamp on for as long as possible before removing
Elmer's E7310 Carpenter's Wood Glue or Gorilla Wood Glue
