I have two mission style end table tops that were ruined by water

stains. I'm not handy but would like to cover table tops with large trays , glass (don't know if glass would cover bubbles) or something unusual. They were inexpensive, not solid wood but really nice, any ideas?
The water bubbles are too extensive to fix. Thanks.
