Repairing a chipped countertop- help please!

There are a few small chips at the edge of our countertop which is a regular builder's countertop - I can't afford to replace it right now but I'd like to repair it until I can. Anyone have any ideas as to how to do this?

You can repair small chips in laminate countertops, But you can also paint it using a countertop paint kit like Rustoleum or Giani available at Home Depot ather than replace it. *****

Find a crayon in a color that will match your counter top and using a flame, let a little melt and drip into your chip. You might then dab a little clear nail polish over it, or just assume you will have to redo it once in a while.
Bondo to fill in for the missing pieces, then sand and paint it to match/blend
