Hey everyone! I am flipping a home and the ceiling has GTG! Stucco is so dated.

DISCLAIMER *always test to see if your stucco ceiling had asbestos*

OK lets get started! You will need: A sprayer, a puddy knife, drywall compound, sanding blocks and ceiling paint

VIDEO

Here is my youtube video showing you the process!

SPRAY

You need to fill your sprayer with warm water and spray a four foot section of your ceiling. Don't spray too large of a section until you get the hang of it because it will dry before you can work towards that spot.

SCRAPE

come in on a slight angle thats not quite parallel to the ceiling and DO NOT force your puddy knife or you will ding and gouge your ceiling. Trust me I did it. If its hard to scrape, spray again and wait. your stucco should come down as if its melting off with ease.

PPE

Wear eye and face protection. IT WILL FALL ON YOUR FACE. Again, speaking from experience.

REPAIR

Use your drywall compound and sander to fill and fix any marks you made to the drywall.

The more patience you have in the first few steps, the less you will need to do in this one.
