How do I fix metal tubular wind chimes?

My wind chimes have come apart and I don't know whether to use some type of metal string, fishing line or what to reconnect them so they are functional again. There is some weight to the metal tubes that make it up.

I had the same thing happen to me and I bought fishing line to fix mine. I haven't done it yet though. I'll be watching the answers with you.

The concern I have with fishing line is that it will dry out and snap apart. But barring any information for some type of metal wire will have to give it a try.

High density fishing lines today are virtually indestructible. Made of high density nylon, level diameter, very powerful.

    - Quick sinking fishing line, fit for all kinds of fishing.

    - Super abrasion resistant, aging resistant, not easy to be cut off accidentally.

    - Tough and round to prevent digging-in on reel.

    - Smoothness and superior casting, superior tensile and knot strength. This is what I use to restring mine(I live in AZ driest, hottest sun, strongest UV rays destroys stuff fast) ,sew leather journals, gardening needs & whatever else I need strong lightweight string for here's one example on Ebay 150ft of 100lb test line 13.99

Hi Pohannah1. I'm Cindy. I think you should use wire. 20 or 22 guage. I make jewelry as a hobby and have worked with both fishing line and wire as stringing material. I think the fishing line would be affected by the weather over time. Wire can withstand the weather and should last a long time. Wishing you all the best.

Fishing line. Metal wire will absorb and muffle the tones.

Hello. I have used both fishing line and braided nylon cording from the jewelry crafting section. The fishing line lasted the longest.

Thanks all! Am going with the heavy duty fishing line as it sounds like the best bet. Appreciate all you're replies!!
