What do I cover a flat roof top deck with?
This is a roof top over a carport. It is covered with black roofing material and the previous owners cover that with indoor/outdoor carpet. It is extremely hot.

They make "roof pavers" for this - they also distribute the weight imposed by walking over the roof. If you don't want it to leak in the future I would recommend a product make for over roofing.

I have one like that. It's been a nightmare and I've tried all sorts of DIY. If you are going to use the deck as a deck, I've found 2 options, either a rubber roofing membrane with decking over it or remove the roof and go with cement. Either way, unless you have major help (I don't) it's not DIY. Sorry. Get a good roofer in and see what your options are. Either way, it's NOT cheap. Spend some time googling it and see what's available.
