Our front porch looks awful as previo owner just used some dark patching stuff to fix large cracks. It’s too costly to have new front porch cement poured. Any ideas as how to repair or do something to make it look better?

Paint it! Cheapest and quickest makeover! Use porch paint and get it tinted.

I would throw an out door or indoor rug over it. If it really makes your eye tick. They're pretty inexpensive. Then I would check out pinterest. Wonderful ideas on that board. I have seen some painted "rugs" on some covered porches or backyard slabs. If you have Habitat for Humanity resale store I would head over there and check out the paint sections over there. You can get some very good bargains there.

Thank you. I will check out Pinterest. I do that for other things, just didn't think about it for my porch.

If the patch is working and not crumbling, I would simply paint the porch with concrete paint. If you live in an area where it could get slippery, have the paint store add some glass non-slip beads to the paint before mixing.

You could even paint a rug on the concrete to give it some personality... https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=paint%20concrete%20porch%20rug&rs=typed&term_meta[]=paint%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=concrete%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=porch%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=rug%7Ctyped

If the patch is too rough and visable, you could use a grinder or sander with super coarse paper, or a drill with a coarse wire brush attachment to smooth it out. If you simply want to change the crack filler color, then put a thin coat of crack filler in concrete color.

You could sand it down and paint it, that's what we did

Looks like the answer is to paint it! Will give that a try.
