What type of roof should I use?
Our house is an attached brownstone. Our roof has several ponding areas on it. We have a low slope shed-type roof with skylights currently covered by a leaky membrane roof system. It's been that way for years now. We are looking at options to replace and wondered if a slate roof covering over the pool is a feasible idea considering all the pool chemicals and corrosion of the metal, in addition to the low slope problem. Does anyone here have any experience with this and any recommendations for the type of roof?

You need to get several quotes from roofing companies and have a list of questions to ask them. We can't tell you what type of roof you need since every state has codes and regulations - your best bet is to start with getting quotes then ask your neighbors with similar roofing
Talk to and get quotes from several roofing contractors that are licensed and insured. They could best suggest what will give you the optimal product.
I would look into steel roofing, its really low maintenance and easy to install.
Talk to licensed contractors in your area. They will know exactly what stand up the best in you in your area. An remember to get everything in writing. Good luck!
I would check with local roofing companies for their recommendations and pricing.
Without seeing what you have it's hard to say. You may need a combination of roofing materials. You best bet would be to get advice and quotes from local roofing companies. Get at least three quotes and don't always go with the lowest. Also check licensing, references and look at some of jobs they've done

It is best to talk to local roofing companies for best advices or any licensed contractor.
Hi all, Thanks for all your responses. My friend has suggested the green slate for the pool. It makes the pool more attractive to the visitors while also enhances the beauty of the pool and backyard area. So I am moving forward with this green slate idea.
I would get some referrals from any of your neighbors in your brownstone lane who have re-roofed. Then I would call at least 3 for quotes and recommedations. Check out the roofing contractors on your states online Contractor Licensing Board to ensure they are licensed, insurance is up to date, and if there have been complaints and were those complaints successfully resolved.
Hi you could use Roofix ( you pour thick spread over the entire roof or anywhere you have a leak. It works underwater or puddling, but better if dry!
You'll need to have roofing companies come by and take a look, talk to you about options. Slate is gorgeous but also astoundingly expensive, so be prepared for that.
