it should help more hot water to be kept hot. and possibly some residual heat.

I would add a water heater blanket and foam pipe covers to the hot water pipe going into the house. You can get them both at the hardware or home store. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQYYlZUXYGw
There is great tape you can get that keeps the pipes warm above a certain temp to help the water run hot faster
