Why does it take long for my faucet water to go between temps?

What should I look at to determine why it takes an unrealistic amount of time for the domestic water get to either temperature ?

Hi Ron, if you're dealing with a water heater that is suddenly not heating well (or sporadically) the heating element could be going out in it. It is possible to fix it, I would call a plumber for that though or you could consider replacing the whole water heater. If where you're trying to get hot water is a LONG way from the hot water heater the water will not be hear as hot when it does get there and its going to take some time.
Great question! How long a run from city service to your home and then how long is the the run from your water heater to the faucet? Is everything insulated? That is where I would start. See if these help.
