How can I attach a hose to an older type faucet?

I have a shampoo hose that I'd like to attach to the sink faucet, but it uses an aerator adapter that doesn't fit our older type faucet. It has no way of removing the part on the faucet that needs to be removed to make it work. Does anyone know what adapter or some way I could get this to work?
I've attached a picture of something that looks very similar.

Have you looked into the type that slip over the faucet? With them, there's no need to remove the aerator.   @April, I'm not sure this is exactly what you need, but you should be able to remove the current aerator adapter so you can add an adapter that fits the hose to your sink faucet. The aerators are not always easy to remove. You will probably need a wrench.   We've tried removing the part of the faucet, though with our hand, but it wouldn't budge. And it doesn't look like there is any part that actually comes off. Thanks for the help, and the link though! :)

  We have a very similar faucet so I ran upstairs with my cell and took some pictures to show you that it will come off. Pictures> 1. Faucet. As you can see it's not exactly the same, but the spigot is the same. 2. The aerator. I couldn't hold steady enough to get a clear close up of this, but it appears to be just like the one on your faucet. I was able to remove it by hand, but there was very little corrosion, which is probably what is keeping you from removing yours by hand. You may only need a pair of pliers to get enough grip to remove it. 3. Your faucet with the same area highlighted. 4. The parts of the aerator. The black with the screen stuck in the faucet but will come out with the turning on of the water or simply by grabbing it with your hand and pulling down. I hope this helps you April.

  Wow! Your faucet does indeed look similar to ours! These types of faucets seem to be made so to where it looks like they're one piece there. Thanks for the pictures! It helps seeing an illustration of how you removed it. :)

  @April you are very welcome. Let me know how it works out for you. You shouldn't have to replace the faucet as others have mentioned. I've had a lot of experience with things like this since I was a small child. I was always Daddy's little helper and he taught me a whole lot over the years. Hubby and I are DIYers and have built three homes. Our last we were the contractors. What I don't know, there's a good chance he does. Daddy's gone home to Heaven, but I remember all he taught me.

  Will do! I will definitely have to check out what you've shown me. I appreciate your input, as it's good to know I don't have to go that far to get this to work. Aww, that's great. As you were giving me advice, I thought you sounded like you had a lot of experience with this. Now I know why. :) That's a good thing that you and your hubby were the contractors with your most current house, to have more control and overhead as to what goes on while working on it. Sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad, but it does sound like you have some special memories and valuable lessons he's taught you still in your heart. :)

  Thank you April. Yes, I had an awesome Daddy. Mum too. They both taught me a whole lot. Daddy, repair and maintenance around the house my vehicle. Mum taught me her tricks of sewing and cleaning, though sadly I never took the time to learn to cook. She was an amazing cook too. Between homework and working I got home in time to set the table while Mom finished cooking, then helped clean up afterwards. Mum's been gone for over 20 years and M'Daddy for 14 now. I still miss them, but know we'll meet again.

Gosh that would have been so useful to me when my dog was alive. I use to give him a bath in the bathtub but had to use a glass to rinse him off. Thanks

You might be better off buying a smaller kitchen faucet with the hose piece. I have that exact faucet and just went to inspect mine. It truly does not look like it would work. However.... Take your faucet off AND your sprayer ant then take it to your local hardware store. Not the big box ones if possible. Or even an actual plumber. They are your best bets!

  Yeah, that's what we thought too, that there isn't any visible way of taking off that part of the faucet. I wonder if there is something we can put on it, a rubber adapter rather than an aerator somehow? Thanks for your suggestions!

  I think by taking it to a plumbing supply, you will get the actual, factual info you are seeking. Also, a plumbing supply would more than likely have the parts you would need.

I may be clueless but I have replaced all my regular shower heads w/WaterPik shower heads that includes an adapter w/the hose line for washing pets and making clean-up of the bath/shower easier. I am unsure if these can be used on a regular faucet because all the sprayer's I have ever seen are either separate like in my 27 yr old laundry room or built into the spray head like my newly renovated kitchen. Hope someone else is more helpful.

  That sounds handy, Sarah! I know what you mean! Generally I find either shampoo hoses or hand held showers, and they all seem to be made the same way -- some of which, like you've mentioned. That's okay though, I still appreciate your input! Thanks! :)

Yes it would be better to either have one that slips over the exiting or get a new faucet with hose attached. I tried that once and couldn't make it work.... ended up with a new faucet.
