go to you tube & do it yourself
gp on you tube & do it yourself
You Tube has many videos on how to do just about anything.
You can easily do this yourself. Turn your water off first. You will need a plumbing wrench and a crescent tool. Take the wrench, hold it in place underneath your faucet and turn with the other one to the left to open the nuts and disconnect the pipes from the faucet-all of them. Then you can pull out the faucet from the top. Put in a new one and turn to the right to fasten it back, snuck, not too tight. The directions with the new faucet will also tell you.
Or go to TUBE to see the video. I do most repairs myself and am 71; there fore
saving lots of money. I also read in books if I don't know something I want to do. Good Luck! Sonja
U TUBE is your friend. I never thought I'd be able to do my own..but...utube was my answer...and now..for many other fixes too !
I agree with Dona10. You will need a couple of tools, like maybe a basin wrench to reach up behind the sink but the job really isn't difficult unless the old one had been leaking. You are right that Lowe's or Home Depot are rather expensive compared with a local plumber or handyman. They have a lot more people looking to get a cut from the money you spend.
Yup, it is expensive! If you have or can borrow the tools you can do this yourself. Grab a strong friend and block out 2 to 4 hours and give it a try. Here is a link to get you started. If you get stuck, think about lining up a local handyman to come in and help, and generally much cheaper as they charge by hour or project. I personally think it is a crime to charge that much, but what are we gonna do? Good luck!

Make sure you have the tools needed, pipe wrench and pipe tape, basically. Turn the water off to the faucet. If you are lucky there is a shutoff on the hot and cold water under your sink. Disconnect the water lines and remove the little nuts that help keep it in place (located under the sink, up against the base of where the faucet). Remove the old one, put the new one in place, being sure to put the gasket it comes with in place. Attach the nuts that keep it in place, attach the water lines. I've done it several times, only issue is it can be pretty cramped behind the sink where you need to work. Crazy to charge someone nearly $200 for 15 or 20 minutes or work, if all goes smoothly!
Thanks! I'll give it a whirl
