Drano.
Heat up some water in large pots and pour quickly into the toilet. Most clogs are caused by fatty, oily gunk and the hot water loosens the clog, pouring it in quickly creates a suction effect that pulls the clog through. Old school solution that my mom taught me. Never, ever use chemical drain cleaners in toilets - it can cause an explosion.
A LITTLE EXTRA HELP. PUT SOME TIDE LIQUID IN BUCKET OF HOT WATER AND POUR. IT CREATES A SLICK MOVEMENT. WORKS FOR ME
I've seen several ideas here in the past. Pour cola into the toilet - let it sit 15 - 20 minutes - this should work. Pour Dawn dish liquid into the toilet - cover with plastic wrap - this should also sit for a while. After either treatment, you should be able to just flush with the clog gone. I have used the hot water route as described above and had great luck too. Good luck.
The dish detergent in the bowl trick has worked every time, often without plunging.
I don't heat the water, just drizzle any brand soap, let it sit so downward seepage occurs. No plastic wrap used.
