How to unstuck hand held shower switch?
We go from shower to hand-held shower by pulling up on a part at the juncture of the two 'lines'. It is now stuck. What can we use to lubricate it? It is brass, by the way.

WD40 or a cooking spray that is oil based.
It may help to lubricate it at that join, using something like WD40, a bit of vegetable oil or baby oil.
I use WD40. Works every time
WD 40 will definitely get the job done.
If it's hard water deposits blocking the switch you may have to use a vinegar soak to dissolve them.
Thank you all. Today...will try the cooking oil.
Household lubricant like degreaser
Sounds like the cable broke
Hi! WD40 is my go to for problems like yours! Good luck!
I would try some Liquid Wrench to free it up. Dry it first with a hair dryer, then saturate the seam with the Liquid Wrench..
Spray it with WD-40 let stand for a few minutes. You should be able to move it.
Do you know the maker of the shower parts? You could reach out to them as they'd have helpful info, although I'm sure another brand would have tips as well.
