  • Chances are it can be fixed. You could call a plumber - get a ballpark phone quote first. Or you could replace. Plumbing fixtures are a dime a dozen - quality counts. Hardware or home improvement stores will have everything you need. If you want higher end, Google "bathroom fixtures" and see who in your area has a showroom and go take a look.

Use a small hex key/wrench to undo the little screw in the handle. Take it off. There should be a "sleeve" that can be removed and cleaned. It can also be adjusted to get hotter water. Spray WD-40 on it, then put the handle back on. It should be good to go. I just paid a plumber to do that!

Try cleaning it first. It could be a build up of lime inside. Might save you some time before the bother of repair or replacement.

Pop off the cap, unscrew the handle and it should be oiled. Replace the shower piece, the screw it back on and reposition the cover. This should help it move.

The above answers are good, HOWEVER....It appears that the “teeth” on the inside of the handle are wore out! This is far more economical if you replace the whole unit. If you DIY, it just the cost of the replacement. If you need to hire it out, around $300-ish?.
