Location of jacuzzi pump?
We have contracted with a home improvement company to replace our 20-yr old tub with a new inclosure, including a Jacuzzi tub. It is just a regular tub size, not spa or garden tub. The company gave us the responsibility of hiring the electrician to prepare the power source. Our question is: logically the pump/motor should be at the opposite end of the tub from the faucet and drain. Is this correct? Thanks!

Hi Susie,
Here is a link of schematics for jaccuzi tubs of all sorts, if you can find your new tub in there it will give you the schematics.
When we had ours installed, the pump was at the opposite end from the faucet and drain. It was a conventional looking tub with jets. For the pump, it had an access panel right next to it for any servicing. One thing we did notice was the pump was loud when running, The company had to come back and insulate it.

Where is the motor located for this Jacuzzi whirlpool tub?
I would think so, but that's why you are hiring a licensed electrician.
That isn't always the case. I have one and the pump is near the end and the faucet and drain are in the center. What dictates the placement is space around the tub and in the walls. Of course, any time you can have water lines away from electrical that would be preferred.
I would rely on the expertise of the electrician to place it in the best place. They deal with these on a regular basis. When in doubt default to an expert.

Why don't you ask the company that is supplying the item?
It seems to me it would as there’d be more room and away from any potential water leaks but the electrician will have the best plan.
