Metals in well water stained pool.

I have a 20x40 pool. Lost some water & when I went to refill it I started getting brown spots (light rust spots). Does anyone know of a natural way to remove these spots. I want to close it down for the season. I rubbed a "vitamin c" tablet on the side & it helped remove the stain but I can't do that to the whole pool. Any suggestion. And yes we have well water so I believe that caused this problem...

what type of filter system do you have? I have a well where I had to put a filter system on it and I have to change the filters monthly.

The spots are iron stains from you well water.

very difficult to remove if attached to the walls and floors .

is your pool concrete gunite with a plaster finish?

or is it a vinyl liner type?

you could try to lower the pool water's ph to a little on the acid side this may losses the iron particles, but do not leave the ph low for an extended period.

bring it back to a ph of 7.2 to 7.6

you could visit. Pool supply store and see if they carry a iron out type chemical.

If you have a concrete pool you could purchase a stainless steel wall brush and try brush the stains .

do no use a stainless steel brissel brush on a vinyl pool but you can use a nylon brush.

if all else fails to remove the iron stains then the only recourse my be to drain the pool and have it acid washed. Should only be com

your pool supply store should have a chemical to take any suspended iron particles out of the water.

I was going to try "metal free" an additive. But it has mixed reviews. Our local pool store said iron out.. I was going to try a natural approach... thanks for reply...
