I've been told I have 3 types of pipe in my crawl space - galvanized, PVC and copper. Will this cause any issues? Do I need to get it changed out?

The three types of pipe are probably due to upgrades as they were needed in the house. All three have their advantages and disadvantages.

No. Galvanized is older but still used pipe for water supply. Copper is newer supply water line. The PVC is more likely drain line. If you are not having any problems with them don't do anything. Why fix something that isn't broken?!

if it ain't broke don't fix it. If you do a remodel in the future you might have to update to the current codes.

aint broke don't fix it. All 3types are perfectly safe. It's the lead pipes that are a problem.

Cannot use PVC pipe for potable water. PVC can only be used for drains.

If your crawl space has been approved by a city or county code inspector, then no worry, it is fine.

Cannot use PVC pipe for potable water. PVC pipe can only be used for drains. There are no codes on what kind of pipes can be used for supply water. Galvanized was and is still in use. Copper is used because it does not corrode as fast as galvanized and there is no threading required. Joints are soldered together. It's mainly a personal choice. Black pipe is generally used for gas lines.
