I keep a very thin bladed screwdriver in my bathroom drawer just for emergencies like this. You can pry and wiggle the stopper out. But you might have to unhook it from the little plunger between the faucets that lets you lift the stopper automatically. When you take the stopper out, clean it and the drainpipe of hair and black soap, using an old toothbrush or bottle washer brush. ☺️

Most have A tail piece attached to the bottom. The tail piece is attached with a screw to it's mate under the sink. The rod that operates the stopper is also attached to the mate. Put the stopper in and attach it to it's mate and retighten the screw.
