We Had a Smooth Bathtub Installation

Hi Everyone,
I was helping my brother-in-law install a bathtub this past weekend. It went really smooth thanks to the tub itself. We both fell in love with the Americast tub by American Standard. I asked a few people on Hometalk what type of tub they recommend and this was the one that came out on top.
The install was pretty basic. We used a 2 x4 stringer to support it and attached it to the studs with roofing nails (like the instructions indicated). Then we check to make sure the tub was level. Of course it wasn't, so we had to shim it. But that's not a big deal :)
The cool thing about the tub is that it doesn't have any overflow pipe to install. This was awesome!!
If you're interested in how to do this installation feel free to visit my blog for details by clicking here http://www.homerepairtutor.com/bathroom-remodeling-tips-bathtub-installation/
We're doing an entire bathroom remodel and documenting it. So stay tuned!

if you have a preexisting tub with built in surround and it needs to be replaced, how do you get a tub into a bathroom? (through the door, that is!) just curious, because that will be us in the future, had mine repaired before.

We moved the tub in vertically and slid it through the door. It was definitely a two person job. The was light enough to do this fortunately
