Any knowledge on a stuck stainless lid and a glass cocktail shaker?
I have a vintage cocktail shaker, but somehow the stainless lid is stuck on the top of the glass shaker. THERE ARE NO THREADS ON EITHER ONE, seems to be a popular question with all of my locals, lol. Any suggestions that somebody has actually tried and it worked??? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time, so I’ve tried the obvious things, or obvious to me. WD-40, cold/hot water, left it in the freezer for a month, poorer Coca Cola on the edge of the lid, and honestly, I don’t see any spots where the lid has any space between it and the glass shaker. I consider myself pretty resourceful, but I’ve been working on this thing off and on for a couple of years. I CRINGE SAYING IT, BUT IT’S ABOUT TO GET THE BEST OF ME. Here goes, I’M OFFICIALLY STUMPED!!! (GRRRR, THOSE WORDS TASTE LIKE VINEGAR!!) SO PLEEEEASE BRING YOUR A GAME FRIENDS!!!

Well.....hmmmm....wish you would have posted a picture of what you cocktail shaker looks like, Is the lid inside or outside the glass? It may sound like a dumb suggestion, but take your stuck set to an experienced bartender, they may have a good idea on what to do.
I guess you would have tried the tapping to break a seal, along with lubricants, and hot and cold contrasts. How about a really strong man with a super strong hand grip, maybe use a large rubber band around the 2 pieces to twist it off.
Hi Mindy, I found the following advice on line.....similar to part of Redcatrec's advice...but you do risk breaking the glass.
Try tapping the lining where the shaker tin and the strainer meet against the edge of a table. If this doesn't work, soak the shaker in a bowl of ice water for 5 minutes, then transfer it to a bowl of hot water. The temperature change should help it loosen up and do the trick

Soak in hot water with washing up liquid in overnight to see if it loosens the build up of sugsr syrup.
try running it under warm to hot water - that is how I get things unstuck like this all the time here is more info https://advancedmixology.com/blogs/art-of-mixology/why-does-cocktail-shaker-get-stuck

Stainless steel cap of cocktail shaker stuck...
I've soaked similar things in hot water and it worked.
I hjad that happen to me and i soaked the shaker in hot water and it loosened.
Try soaking the stainless steel top in hot water. Then tap the "seam" gently and it should pop off.
Here's a forum that might help too

You could try soaking it upside down in hot water then tap at the seam on the edge of a counter. Hopefully that does the trick. Otherwise I’d bring it to a nice cocktail bar and chat up the bartender.
If running hot water over it didn't loosen, try sitting in a pot of boiled water.
let soak in hot soapy dish waster
Let the shaker sit in hot water let the water run on it for like 2 minutes then try to loosen if that won’t work put it in the freezer for20 min
I would try some kind of oil, either cooking oil or WD40 to try and loosen the parts. Use a rubber jar opener to hold one side tight while twisting. Be careful the glass doesn't break in your hands.
I'd love to see a photo of it, since I can't think of anything else to try other than what's been suggested. Maybe a photo would help?
