Help please!!!
They make electrical tape in many colors. Find one to match your rod and wrap a piece of tape around it at the seam. It makes for a much smoother transition when you pull the curtain over. Make sure to center the tape where the ridge is.
Try Curtain Glide tape or Ezyglide tape. Both are available on Amazon.
You can buy an actual sleeve to wrap your curtain rod in. It is a hollow plastic tube that fits right over your rod.
There's a product called Ezyglide Tape that is the best way to fix this - not only does it smooth out the join, but it provides a smooth, slick and silent sliding solution along the whole pole - permanently! Takes about 5 minutes to fit.
Buy a longer rail without a join. or slip a plastic /Vinyl tube over them.
I use curtain rod hooks with rollers like these and it helps a lot!!!! https://amzn.to/3FJ2URO
Depending on what the issue is, you could possible add a sleeve over the rod to make the transition smoother. I put a plastic sleeve on my shower curtain rod where it expands to reduce the sticking.
You can purchase a plastic cover for the rod.
Take some tape like water proof tape or black electrical tape and tape over the seam with the tape that will stop it from sticking
Here are the products that Mogie and Ann refer to.
You just need some larger loops so they can slide over the bump
Hi RoseAnn, see if you can find some PVC pipe at your local hardware that will fit over the rod.
I would wrap the bump with electrical tape to help the curtain glide over the bump.
