How can I repair a vintage proHector screen?

At first I thought these are clouds on the first 2 pictures and then realized, nope, not clouds.

I would call these guys and pick their brains regarding your vintage screen. From there, you'll know what to shop for. I had no idea that the screens could/should be painted!

In your case, you MUST determine if the material of the screen is plastic or canvass. It makes a huge difference in what kind of paint to use. If it's plastic, make sure you use a paint made specifically for use on plastic such as the labeled ones from Rustoleum. I absolutely would not spray this project!

If the screen is canvass, you might consider using gesso, which is used to prime canvas for artists. It's an absolute white with no undertones of green or pink, etc. It's much less expensive than the paints shown on the other site for screen paints.

The other thing is that you want good coverage with as little paint as is necessary. If it's too thick, you'll have problems with it being rolled up and down - possible paint cracking.
