How do I recover my custom silk lamp shade?

It is important to replace the inner liner - styrene and then you could just pick a fabric and use spray adhesive to apply to the styrene and trim it out with ribbon folder over or hemming tape.

One way to do would be to wrap the wire frame with wide ribbon like florists use. Most places that sell sewing & craft supplies offer this kind of ribbon such as Michael's & Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart, & even Amazon. It comes in many colors.

Using a tiny bit of hot glue, you can anchor the ribbon to the wire frame holding it in place so you can wrap it over the frame going inside & outside the top & bottom of the frame. When finished, anchor the end of the ribbon on the inside at the bottom with a tiny bit of hot glue.
