How can I repair a chipped mirror edge?

The edge of a swing mirror is chipped. Is it possible to use a product to refill the edge, sand it smooth and touch up the back of the area with mirror silver? If so, what type of products would be suitable?

You could put a frame around it to cover the chips. Use a picture frame if you can find on that size or use trim and make your own. The bonus is that will dress it up.

  Thank you. Good idea. I think on this mirror i’d definitely have to make my own trim as its the bottom edge of a curve.
