My tall metal floor lamp no longer screws into the base securely.
The place where the tall metal pole and the heavy stand screw in together is stripped. It won't stay upright.

Usually there is a nut under the base that tightens the rod to the base. Sometimes you have to remove the felt on the bottom of the base to get at the nut.... https://www.antiquelampsupply.com/1-8f-brass-locknut.html this screws onto the internal rod that goes all the way up to the light fixture itself. You use pliers to tighten it.
I've had a few of those...did you use pipe tape on the threads before joining the 2 pieces?
you can find pipe tape at lumber stores big box diy...it’s usually white and plumbers use it on scew on fittings for metal pipes it fills the gaps in the threading giveing it more for the other piece to grab onto.
