Hi! I cut through several folded layers of aluminum foil to sharpen mine.
Use a needle to sharpen by sliding the needle back and forth while using slight pressure.
Cutting through foil or fine grit sandpaper would work.
If you go to a local craft or sewing store, they will probably be able to tell you who can sharpen your linking shears professionally. That may be the best way to get them done right.
