What can I do? I have no room but I LOVE sliding barn door style!
I would like to replace the door towards my bathroom with a sliding barn door. However this door is mounted right into the corner of the kitchen so no room to slide to... See more
Leave the arch. Just install the barn door track above the highest point of the arch. I think that would look awesome and far less expensive than hiring a contractor to modify it.
If you really want to close the area, you could try an ached window above with the barn door below.
I would close that arch. It's not a large one so shouldn't cost much to have someone do it unless your handy just look at the door and see if it needs to be connected to that new portion so you make it very sturdy. Remember though that's not very private. And this is just a trend that you may grow tired of this look. I mean if you have an arch clearly this I not the style of home that matches barn doors. I just typed to point out things so people don't waste money on a fad sorry if I offended you that's not my in tension at all. If you want it go for it, it's your house. You should enjoy it and you see this every morning and every evening so if it effects you then I would like for you to smile.
I agree with Naomie, leave the arch and hang the door as high up as possible
