Can you switch a bedroom door to open the other way?

    Sure. I'm not sure whether you mean open outward, rather than in (or vice versa) or if you want the door to open in the same direction (say inward from outside the room) and just want it to open to the left rather than the right. Either way, it can be done, but the steps it takes will depend on the way the hinges are attached to the door facing.

    The door along with the door frame would need to be reversed. Remove molding around the door on both sides. Unscrew or cut the nails holding the door frame to the studs. Remove and reverse the door assembly in the opening. Level and plumb the door screwing it in the opening. Replace the trim.
