Is it the door frame? If so, can someone tell me how to fix a broken door frame?

It might just be as simple as tightening the screws in the hinges.

This happened to a hutch that had a door that would always stay open. The problem was some of the screws needed adjusting. Opening and closing a door puts stress on hinges so the screws might need tightening or loosening or both. I wish I could provide you with the physics involved but my son fixed the problem for me. Don't give up since you can "google" the problem and get a definite answer.

I agree with checking the hinges first. Tighten any loose screws. If that is not the problem use a level and check that the door jamb is plumb (up and down) on the hinge side. If off plumb, pre drill holes in the jamb every 12" and use at least 2" to 3" screws into the jamb. You can also remove one screw in each hinge and replace with a 2" to 3" screw.

should post photo. A shimmy might help in area opposite of shift position.
