hat is the door made of : wood, plastic, resin, metal? Metal probably would not leave a hole, but a dent instead. Please reply with the material it is made of. Thanks!
It depends on what it's made of & 'where' the hole is located on the door. Some are easy fixes, such as buying the proper weight wood pane [s]l to replace the damaged one[s]...slats or whatever material it is made of. You may have to take the panel to your local hardware store to have them recommend the proper materials/stain/finish needed to repair it.
Aha! This can be tricky. I would smooth the rough edges so the surface has nothing sticking out. get some wood putty, which comes in plastic tubs and is soft almost like cake frosting. Use a putty knife and start filling the hole. Not too much, you need to give it time to dry, then add more putty. The putty dries to wood-like consistency that can be painted or sanded or even stained. Just do a a small amount each day or two so the first amount dries completely. Once you have enough to be level with the rest of the door, let it dry, rub sandpaper over it to make it smooth, then paint or finish as you like. Good luck!
