How can I hook up a single curtain panel?

my window I have a roll shade. I also had a sheer panel on each side to 'finish off the look'. (I used a wooden tieback,put the grommets through it and hung them-see photo) But now we want to use the roll shade// close it and open it. But the sheers get caught in the shade. I need 'something' to be 5 to 6 inches away from wall to 'hang' the sheers from on each side. so they don't get caught.? How can I rig this up? any ideas? (don't want a full length rod across)
Go to the plumbing supply isle. Grab some pipes and flanges the length you want minus the depth of the wooden tie back. drill a hole the size of the pipe into the wooden tie back glue the pipe into it and attach the flange to the pipe and attach to the wall.
They have U shaped shower rods that can help them not get caught. I also saw it on Pinterest.
Make a diy cornice/valance. This will allow you the space you need and it can be made to the exact size you want.
I always hang my rod above everything and make sure that the decorative rod stands out from the wall. Have this situation and haven't had a problem...
Just put something behind your wooden tie back to make it stick out far enough so the curtain won't get caught.
1. You could get your shade cut to fit inside your window frame.
2. You could mount a block of wood deep enough to make panel hang over the roll up blind. Paint it to match wall or window frame where the curtain is now mounted. Then re-mount the curtain as you now have it on the block.
I think it is easier to have the blind cut at your blind or hardware store, to fit the window frame.

What about a swing curtain rod. It's mounted to the side in about the same position and pivots on a hinge on the mount side. They're short. Simply swing it out of the way when you want to operate the roller shade.
You could remount/remove the curtain rod and move it out so that it clears your shade. Washers or even new supports that are larger will fix the problem. If want a more DIY experience, take a piece of wood the thickness that is need for curtain to clear the shade (you can decorate it if you want and mount it to the wall. Mount the curtain on to the wood supports. If the wood supports do not look good or shows, you can also make a scroll design on the wood, cut it out, and mount it to the wall. After that you can mount the curtain to the new scroll work design wood.
I saw a model home where they used a very short curtain rod on each side of the window. As David and Sharon noted, the short rod was set on very long brackets that held the rod and the curtain panel several inches away from the wall (more than 4"). It was a very nice look.
If you don't want it to show you cal also buy cafe' curtain rods.They are small than the decorative bigger chunkier ones.. lots more sizes for a fraction of the cost .. I have the same type windows.. for looks I'd suggest getting the length of the side windows to not chop up the whole look.. I'd would cut the roll-up and rehang it inside the frame like others have said.
