I have been using the kit to put plastic over my windows in the winter and the tape usually comes right off when I remove the plastic. This year it seems to be a cheaper type tape that will not come off, it just badically shreds as I try to remove each little bit. It is on 5 windows and I desparately want to get it off. Help please!

Cooking oil, butcher block oil will work. There is also Goo-gone that takes all kinds of residues off of things. It might be a tedious job, but with patience, you'll get it done!

If all else fails, use some acetone on a rag. Caution! Do not get acetone on surrounding surfaces or your skin. Use gloves and eye protection.

Goo Gone. You can buy at Home Depot, Walmart, etc.

Soak the area in a kitchen oil like olive oil. Peanut butter also has an oil that interferes with the stickiness, and it sometimes works better because it can stay in place on vertical surfaces better while it does its work.
