Not quite sure if you are replacing a window with a door or a door with a window. No matter. Difficult? Not at all if you have carpentry skills and tools. If you have none, then it is very difficult. Not a project I would recommend if your toolbox consists of a hammer, two screwdrivers, and a pair of pliers.
I would wait until you have lived there for 6 months to see how the flow goes.
