You can install hard plastic vertical blinds.
Hate the cheap doors? Get rid of them. Turn them into open shelivng, hanging 'ante-rooms.' Take the doors off, paint the rooms nice open light colors, put your things in them in a nice pretty way. Celebrate your pantry and your hanging clothes. Why be embarassed, ashamed or hide what lives with you? Put any thing totally rude into nice storage boxes in the bottom or up top.

DIY Cottage Closet Door Makeover
If possible, you could install pocket doors that slide to the side out of sight when open, then when closed would be flat. If you don't know what they are, let me know and I will try to post pictures. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do!! 🙂🙂🙂
In my home, one wall house a large closet and the basement stair entrance. I went to Home Depot and ordered 3 decorative panel doors on a long slider - attaches at top and bottom. Looks great and hides everthing.
If you have the wall space, you could also use 'barn doors' on the large decorative metal sliders or use nice panel doors and use the barn door hardware.

curtians. there are rods that swing the fabric off to the side, but there has to be room to do that.
Hello Kit, how about changing them to a sliding barn style door? They won't stick out in the way when opened, you could even use the old bifold doors by just attaching them together or using them individually! Hope this helps you out.

Take them down and relace with standard double door.
I had bi-fold louvered doors on my laundry room off the kitchen, I took them down and keep my laundry room nice with no clutter and a pretty shade on the window and love it.
