How do I repair a doorknob sized hole in a new door?

A door knob from another door went through it. It’s a new door but I don’t know how to cover that size hole.

Hi Chris, because its hollow you will need to pack it with something to create a back for a ptach. Wood putty or even sheetrock mud would probably work for smoothing out the patch. Here's a how to: https://www.wikihow.com/Repair-a-Damaged-Hollow-Core-Door

A product like Plastic Wood or Water Putty may work to patch the hole, as well! Just make sure it is smoothed with a putty knife before it dries so it is easier to sand... I hope this helps!
