My cat and dogs rip my screen patio door. How do I pet proof it?

You can install a pet screen which is a little thicker that a regular screen. They may have a harder time ruining that.

Try installing a piece of plexiglass glass at the bottom about 4 -6 inches wide

I bought lattice in the garden store, cut a piece and nailed it across the screen. It looks pretty and dogs don't touch it.

We put up a screen door guard that we bought at Lowes. They just screw on.

Install a kickplate, can be plastic, metal. I have the same problem, 6 dogs, 6 cats.

Plexiglass. Hard to break but still see-through.

We bought cat proof screening material from the hardware store. Replaced the shredded old screen. It has been terrific. It is a little thicker than regular for viewing through but worth it to me. Used the same replacement screening at my mom's house and no problems since. Because it is more durable, it took a little more effort to install.

Go to your Home Depot Store. They sell a screen guard that will fit on over the screen at the bottom of the door. They've been around for years, bet you've seen them at some time. They fit on the outside of the door. If your pets are destroying the inside of the screen, perhaps some dog training will help.

Fit a cat and dog door so they can get in and out!

Option of metal screen instead of plastic screening on the bottom if you have a split screen or make a frame of thin slats about 1/4" apart like a picture frame you screw to the door so it protects screening. Make it high enough that when they stretch up they can't touch the screen. It will still let in light .
