Remove glue from painted steel Door?
The window on my steel door is trimmed with wood that was glued on. The heat on the door from the sun all day has cracked the wood trim and the is dripping down on the door. Any suggestions on how to remove this glue. Thank you

Use an ice cube to harden what is leaking out from the window frame...then a razor blade to cut where it's coming from and scrape it off. Then try Goof Off or Oops to remove any residue that is left.
While it's still soft, scrape off as much as you can. Then you'll need to sand the door to smooth it and repaint.
Scrape off as much as possible, sand and paint.
you could use a blow dryer or heat gun to soften the glue and here are more ideas

Try using a plastic scraper to remove as much as you can. An old credit card would work. Stiff spatula. Then try Mineral Spirits, Goo Gone, Goof Off to remove any residue. The glue will continue to ooze out tho. You can seal and force caulk to stop it.
Try Goo Gone or WD-40!
Hi Londa, you can use acetone to remove the glue. Wash the door afterward with soapy water. I would also seal and repaint the wooden frame to prevent it from happening again.
Heat with a hair dryer and apply goo gone. That should help to get it off.
You can soakin paper towel with rubbing alcohol and stick it to the glue for 15 minutes. Rewet the paper towel if necessary. Soak a rag or paper towel with ammonia and place it on the door for 15 minutes. Scrape the softened glue away with a plastic scraper.
Get a plastic scraper from the auto department in WM or go to an auto store. Use it when the glue gets hot from the sun. You could also use acetone the kind you purchase in Lowes or HD, not nail polish remover. But you will have to let it dry, then lightly sand and repaint.
Hi Londa, hope this video helps you out! If all else fails you can sand it and repaint it.
