What would you do about this doorway?

My front entry doorway has open space between the tile on the floor and the threshold of the door. Its less than an inch thick and looks like something should be there. Also the threshold doesn't seem stable, like if you were to open the door and stand on the metal plate you could wiggle it up or down on both sides.

What you need is a transition molding between the tile and door threshold. For the threshold I would use low expanding foam insulation under the metal threshold to seal and secure it.

If that is an open edge with ceramic tile, you may want to fill it with self leveling concrete made for that purpose.
It needs the grout extended to that point between the threshold and your tile.
The rough wood should not be showing. Therefore like everyone else says, you need a transition piece to go over it. The whole door sill needs to be level, so you will have to fill in the areas that are not level. Then put you transition piece on. Home Depot, Lowes, Rona are the places I would go to get the piece. Ask someone there what you could do to level out the door sill. Make sure there is insulation in the door sill as it will help with cutting the cold.
