We just bought a house with lightweight hollow core closet doors - the kind that slide across or behind the other when you open one side. Any ideas?
you could have a piece of 1/4" plywood, cut to size, and cover the louvered top. you could also cover this plywood with a wall paper. In fact they sell a beadboard wall paper, that you could used on the top and bottom, which will give you a whole new look
I used plates from my local hardware store. First, I removed the hinges. THen I glued the two together. I put mending plates on the bottom, top and in the middle on the inside of the doors, to stabilize them. Then I used the hinges to hang them from the door frame. It made two bi-folds into one solid door that opens on hinges. Works for me!
