I have painted my vinyl shutters and they come out great with just a regular exterior paint. I don't even take them down from the house.

    Hi,

If you mean outdoor shutters, take them down and paint them. We've had to do ours a couple of times. (We've been here for 45 year) We used an outdoor paint that will adhere to plastic. Spread a drop cloth in a shaded area or even inside a garage so you don't paint in the sun. Be sure they are fully dry and cured before putting them back. (Check your paint for that information.) If they are too difficult to remove, then use painter's tape along the sides where they touch the house so you keep the paint on just the shutters. Just watch for paint drips when doing them vertically. Use thin coats which means you might have to do 2 coats to get a nice finish, no matter which way you choose. Wishing you the best.

A professional justcleaned are vynyl siding amnd plastic shutters. He used JoMax. You mix it with bleach and water. Made it all look new. You spray it on, let it set, then wash off. You can buy it at Lowes or Amazon. Directions on bottle. Does not damage. He told us we could do it, but because of age and health, he gotthe job.We received many compliments from neighbors.
