Restore a Vintage Screen Door

About a year ago we bought this awesome screen door for our pantry door. We were on a junkin' trip in Warrenton at Texas Antiques Week.
See how someone had painted over all these awesome antique signs. Well, we knew there was some glory under all that paint if we could just figure out how to get there. It has sat in our shed as we have tried so many different things to remove the paint and not ruin the signs. I reached my frustration limit, decided to live with painted signs, and then remembered we have some friends who are sign experts. They gave us some advice to use some automotive products, which we finally figured would work. Sad to say it didn’t touch the paint on these metal signs. Ugh!!!! I had given up.
Then on a whim my husband tried Tide Oxi Multi Purpose Cleaner and it was amazing! It cleaned all the paint off the signs!
This stuff rocks! Thank you Tide and Home Depot for ending the 12-month cycle of frustration on the pantry door. We have gone from this for the past 8 years. Yes, you read that correctly….8 years. Why so long you ask? Because I was waiting for the “perfect” door!
