Season Cast Iron With Coconut Oil!

Cooking with cast iron is good for you and it really isn't as hard to take care of the seasoning process as you might think. It makes your house a bit toasty and smokey, but if you use your cast iron regularly this isn't a process you have to repeat.
I used coconut oil because it has good health benefits, but any cooking grade oil will do. 3 T spread all around and wipe as much off as possible with a paper towel. It shouldn't look oily!
Line the bottom oven rack with tinfoil to catch drips. Bake for 30 minutes at 450. You may need to reoil & repeat 2-3 times
a well seasoned cast iron skillet will be black rather than grey. doesn't that skillet corn bread look good? the dark color means it's naturally non-stick!
