When I came and saw this house at first time, the very first thing I thought was that this house is in serious need of light. Please take a look at this dark and dull stairs, which has no windows nearby or anything that brings sun light.
This area definitely need to lighten up in big time.
This is how it looked then. The wall is covered with old thin plywood, which is okay, but because of its dark color and the lack of light made this area look dull and my daughter (was 5 yr old then) scared.
Wall, floor, and stairs need a big makeover.
A heavy looking shoes cabinet was attached to this house. The house was built approx. 35years ago, so this has been sitting here same long. As you can see, there are lots of work ahead to achieve my goal.icon
Color I chose was light yellow for the wall, but it doesn't seem light as it really is.(needs lightning, reallyicon
So first, I did painting work on shoes cabinet and wall.
This is the first thing you see when you enter my house. Painted in white cabinet and the light yellow wall made the area look brighter.
This is how my stairs look today. As I said  this area needed the light, but storage too. So what I asked constructor to do during the house reforming project period (at purchase )was to make a wall under the stairs and create the storage. On top of that, I applied wallpaper by myself.
Since my little 6 year old artist continuously make new art-piece, the walls of this area has become her gallery today.  icon

How do you clean the wallpaper between the stairs?

Since your title indicates that you’re from Japan,

the US readers should know that fully open risers are not legal anymore, in the US,

and the contractor would have had to at least partial enclose them, by Code.
