just plywood steps i need to put risers in but at a decent price. i found them for 50.00 a step.

no i want to brighten up the kitchen. i have butcher block counters now.
Were there wood steps before the carpet or is it subfloor underneath?
You can buy treads and risers to create a wooden staircase and then stain or paint them.
Your local Hardware store should be able to help. Measure the depth of your tread as well as the width and do the same for the riser before you go in.
