Can I apply selfstick tile over fake brick?
I have fake brick that is painted for my backsplash, do I have to remove this prior to adding peel n stick vinyl tiles?
Go for it! Sounds pretty!
I haven't but you could probably just glue them on with construction adhesive and be sure the sides of the tile are sealed with either a grout (plan for mold to fold on that though!) or a clear poly caulk.
Make sure that there is texture to the tiles as some could get slippery if they are wet or someone with wet feet or shoes could slip or fall when the are going up the steps.
I saw this done on a Property Brothers show. They did it on an inside staircase. So, it should work for your application. Just be sure to seal the tile well against the weather. Good luck!
Julie, There is a woman named Susan Hall who has made a multiple part series of videos (4 or 5 parts), each one not very long at all, showing exactly how to place ceramic tiles on wooden step risers. I am posting 2 of them here for you (the first video and the last video), as I feel, after watching them all, that you wil lget the most information from these two.
