Steps from 1st to 2nd floor are about 8.5 not including the border strip
I assume you mean deep from front to back? Start at the bottom with a solid block and tie in by fixing new tread over original and new, together securely! work your way up..........
Thanks... I had thought about that adding a board to the riser and planking the steps but the steps are about an 1 in... adding on top will give me a higher rise.... trying not to have to remove all the steps but I think that'll be the bottom line... appreciate your input.
